Default Something to think about.

It's a real simple premise. If Guild Wars was really dead, would Guild Wars Guru still exist?

If this is in the wrong section pleaes move.

Well it seems like half the people posting aren't playing anymore anyway, so I'm gonna say your logic doesn't work.

They stopped playing, but they still feel enough connection to the game positive or negative to keep posting. Therefore my question.

EDIT: If people are still talking about me after I am gone, I either did something real good or horrifically bad.

And you are who exactly? Sorry, are you a person I was supposed to know about?

Original point: it's not like one day suddenly everyone stops caring. People leave slowly and gradually over a long period of time. I'm sure someone somewhere is still discussing Temple of Elemental Evil. Did you think it's either 100% or 0% of people care about a game?

edit: oh I get it now. It was a rhetorical question. Threads based on a rhetorical question are pretty leet.

Whether people continue to remember you or not is irrelevant to the fact that you are still dead. Guild Wars is only a mere shadow of what it used to be. But yes when GW2 comes out I expect there will be alot of players coming back and depending on how Anet handles the issue of new content GW2 could stay strong for several years.

Agh! I was going to use the same example, but with Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot. Beat me to the punch!

did you play or hear about ToEE? That was the one game I bought purely on premise, without reading a single review or forum chatter. I'll never make that mistake again.

Basically, the premise was they were going to take classic D&D dungeon modules and recreate them perfectly in a comp game (incl. turn-based mechanics), with original 1st Ed rules. The problem was it was insanely buggy, with a notoriously terrible RNG. That singularly killed the dev (Troika), before they had a chance to follow up with another module.

I know this is off topic but the premise of this thread is point less and I'm sure will lead to a quick lock.

I heard about it, but was occupied with other D&D style games at the time, like Icewind Dale 2. Poor Troika, though...Arcanum was one of the best PC RPGs.
